Rick Astley for… president?
In case you’ve been living under a rock, today is the day that American’s can go vote to see who will screw them over for the next four years be their next president.
There has been suggestions that people will be putting down Rick Astley for write in votes and while that might be funny I strongly urge you to vote for real candidates, even though none of them are as awesome as Rick.
As we all know, Rick would never give you up or let you down, but unfortunately he was not born in the United States and so just can’t be president (which is a damn shame if you ask me).
So please, vote for… uhh… not Rick?
I’m so confused!

Rick HAS to be better than the lame ass options we have this year. Obama and McCain are both made of pure fail.

True, but if all the Obama or McCain voters decided to write-in Rick Astley, Ralph Nader would win.

what about bob barr or even ralph nader? it would be nice if the election didn’t revolve around 2 candidates (or parties depending on the political season of election or no election soon) while ignoring all other candidates for the most part.

@ped - I agree it would be nice if other political parties got some respect for a change
Rick would definitely be better than Obama or McCain. Rick would never give us up, he would never let us down, he would never hurt us. But there’s the small matter of the constitution, so alas, he cannot be president of our fine, majestic, hamburger and french fry encrusted nation.
Such a shame!

I voted for Chuck Baldwin (Constitutionalist Party). I don’t care who says it’s a wasted vote, at least I didn’t vote for the same shit all over again. We got our third party candidate to win in the MTV EMA, now we need to figure it out for the elections here.

Britfags should unite to try and get Rick to be Prime Minister!

DO IT

Whether McCain or Obama wins, it looks like US citizens are turning out in record numbers for this election. That’s what true democracy work best- the more votes, the better. Except that in this case, people only get to vote once!!!

Ahahahahahahahahaha.
This is hilarious, I just came back from voting to find this story here and I wrote-in Rick just for shits and giggles.
Okay, actually I voted Obama. But I wrote Rick in for Senator…

November 5th, 2008 at 7:31 am

I voted moot
November 5th, 2008 at 8:48 am
I voted for “none of the above”
November 5th, 2008 at 8:55 am
Don’t waste your vote by voting for Obama! He’s going to win anyway. Vote 3rd party, vote for Rick or don’t vote at all, but voting for Obama or McCain is not worth the effort.

Vote for that guys that always runs but never wins.

I voted Rick Astley on some minor ticket where I had to 2 choices: some democrat or write somebody in. It felt good.
