UPDATE - It has been suggested that this action by MTV fulfills the first of the Terms and Conditions we had laid out for MTV staff that you can find here. I would be inclined to agree.
If you read this MTV, We’d love to see pictures and/or video of you doing the side-to-side step.
Since we also now know you’re playing along, perhaps proof you also liek Mudkips?

Pretty weird that you’d look at the source code
But awesome find anyway, kudo’s to MTV!
October 30th, 2008 at 4:29 am
i’m so tempted to write some good nonsense-facts together so i can prove that this “binary secret code” is actually saying “tokio hotel=best band ever”, just to cause some confusion among the unknowning.
lucky them i’m too lazy.
October 30th, 2008 at 4:34 am
Re: “Why you lookin’ at the sauce code anywayz?”
The splash page has an annoying auto-redirect script on it - and if one wanted to explicitly modify the page not to do that using browser addon scripts - the commented out binary line does stand out a bit when viewing the code.

I know it’s old and tired, but nobody’s said it yet so I’ll just leave this here:
There are 10 kinds of people. Those who understand binary notation, and those who do not.
Also, 0110001101101111011000110110101101110011.

Additional Terms for MTV Employees & Representatives.
In order to use this site, you must adhere to the following:
1) You must have Rickroll’d at least 10 unsuspecting people, or are currently in the process of doing so on or before close of voting on 11:59pm GMT on November 2nd,
I’ll just leave this here.
October 30th, 2008 at 8:52 am
I’m going to agree. I think MTV has fulfilled that part of the terms, to be sure.

@lol wut: Maybe giving a hint that they are going to allow our votes with no questions (or even the opposite). Maybe in binary because they know most people here can understand or at least know how to make it understandable.
Maybe they’re just fucking with us.

As a digital engineer I used to
need to find patterns in data looking at the one’s and
zero’s to check that software was working.
I couldn’t find any patterns here, but I’m
still working on it.
